Picture yourself floating aimlessly down a tree-lined river, not a care in the world. Or maybe you're the more adventurous type. Perhaps you picture a few rapids, water splashing in your face, adrenaline flowing. Popular rivers for canoeing and kayaking include the Pine, Boardman, Manistee, Crystal and Betsie. Some rivers area also popular for tubing. The liveries listed below can provide information about public landings.

If you don't have your own watercraft, check out one of the rental businesses below. Call ahead to confirm availability.

The rivers surrounding Traverse City are ideal for canoeing, kayaking and tube floats. Rivers in the region range from wide, quiet floats ideal for a casual float to twisty, challenging trips appreciated by more experienced paddlers.
